As a UX Designer at Flywheel, you’ll join our busy and growing UX team to support our best-in-class biomedical research platform. You’ll help define end-to-end user experiences, from researching the problem space to shaping the innovative UI design that brings the product to life. You’ll tackle complex, data-heavy customer workflows and craft them into intuitive, accessible interfaces for our customers around the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Create design assets for our web application. This includes wireframes, low to high-fidelity visual design mockups, prototypes, and supporting design specifications and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and product management to ensure your proposed designs meet user needs and are feasible to implement.
  • Conduct user research with stakeholders and end-users to help shape your designs.
  • Be the voice of our end-users, ensuring they are represented at every step in the design process and that we are correctly elevating their needs and pain points.
  • Effectively speak to process, design goals, and team vision as a strong representative and advocate for the UX Design team.
  • Stay up to date with the latest design patterns, trends, and tools.

 

What Would Make You a Great Fit

  • BA/BFA degree in HCI or design-related field, emphasizing user experience, interaction design, visual design, psychology, or related field.
  • 3 or more years working as a UX or Product Designer.
  • A portfolio showcasing your processes and deliverables. We are interested in learning how you approach problems and think through them. The portfolio should demonstrate UX\UI design best practices, responsive and interaction design, and conducting user research and how they informed your designs.
  • Some experience conducting usability research such as moderated/unmoderated usability testing, user interviews, surveys, and other research methods.
  • Fluency with modern UX design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD. We use Figma.
  • You are a curious, humble, self-motivated, and creative individual who thrives in a collaborative yet dynamic and sometimes ambiguous startup working environment.
