General Purpose

Burlington City Arts is seeking an energetic and dynamic gallery educator to provide gallery learning programs, including tours, art activities, camps, and workshops at the BCA Center for youth ages 4-18, adults, and families.

BCA Gallery educators are responsible for teaching dynamic, innovative, accessible learning experiences. We run inquiry-based tours as well as art activities that engage diverse audiences with BCA Center exhibitions. Gallery educators serve as lead educator for BCA Center school tours, camps, workshops, and intergenerational public programs such as Family Art Saturday, artist-led workshops, and select exhibit programs. For larger groups or tours, BCA Gallery Educators may exclusively lead art activities. As a team, gallery educators work in collaboration with the Coordinator of Gallery Learning and Public Programs with the development of exhibit-based lesson plans, art activities, and material lists.

We seek candidates who have experience working with youth and adults in a gallery, museum, or education settings; or have an arts or education background with equivalent experience; enjoy working with children, youth, and families, and are enthusiastic, friendly, creative, highly organized, and dependable.

BCA Gallery educator hours vary weekly and monthly according to season and program needs, and they average 15-20 hours/month. Most programming occurs on weekday mornings, and monthly on Saturdays, with occasional afternoons or evenings.
