Summary 

This position is responsible for the provision and coordination of clinically competent care including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients. This may include delegation of appropriate tasks to direct patient care staff including but not limited to LPNs, CMAs, and CHWs. As a member of the patient care team, this position participates in decision-making, teaching, and quality improvement activities that enhance patient care outcomes and facility operations.

Scheduled Hours: 37.5 Hours Weekly
 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday -Friday

 

Essential Functions

1.    Provides professional nursing care in conformance with recognized nursing standards such as those described by professional publications, administrative policies, the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations, etc.
2.    Utilizes education, skills, and knowledge of clinic organization to conduct clinic or educational programs in a variety of settings.
3.    Demonstrates good critical thinking skills (i.e., using current knowledge to infer a reasonable course of action for an unfamiliar situation, etc.).
4.    Maintains timely, accurate, and concise documentation of nursing interventions and outcomes while maintaining patient confidentiality.
5.    Compiles reports as required using the differed reporting platforms (e.g., NG Crystal Reports, Tableau, etc).
6.    Provides health education and counselling at a level appropriate to the age, learning style, and educational level of the patient and family member/caregiver with regard to sensitivity of the situation.
7.    Applies interpersonal skills to interact with a variety of individuals such as children, adolescents, adults, providers, community members, and others.
8.    Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment, utilizing appropriate and effective interpersonal and nursing leadership skills.
9.    Confers with other members of the multidisciplinary health care team, community services and organizations, to determine the best care for patients.
10.    Utilizes knowledge of available resources to interpret/translate foreign records.
11.    Translates and interprets information, as needed, if bilingual.
12.    Performs duties in a prioritized and organized manner to maximize efficiency and productivity.
13.    Initiates appropriate emergency measures within clinic and maintains certification in adult, child, and infant CPR.
14.    Participates in clinical conferences, staff meetings, in-services, continuing education programs, and committees, as appropriate.
15.    Reports unusual occurrences that may involve the safety and well being of the patients and co-workers directly to supervisor and/or Safety Officer.
16.    Possesses knowledge of and follows OSHA regulations.
17.    Participates in all-hazard emergency preparedness and emergency response activities.
18.    Provides orientation for new staff and students, as appropriate and assigned.
19.    Communicates effectively utilizing good oral and written communication skills.
20.    Meet assigned productivity levels, as applicable to clinic requirements.
21.    Develops and maintains a working knowledge of individual Emergency Management roles.
22.    Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge Skills Abilities and Education Required

1.    Illinois licensure as a registered professional nurse or Illinois licensure by reciprocity within six months of the initial date of employment.
2.    Valid certification in CPR of adults, children, and infants.
3.    Certified school transcript upon hire.
4.    Ability to work overtime, evenings, weekends, and some holidays, if necessary.
5.    Ability to maintain and keep records.
