Provides support to the UW-Madison Division of Extension educational program in the County. Responsible to assist with general office duties in the county Extension office. Experience with Microsoft products required. Additional duties may include assisting with educational programming including 4-H summer camp and the fair.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:

Refer questions and concerns to Program Assistant, Extension Educators or Area Extension Director.

Perform various clerical duties of word processing, designing flyers and brochures, manage program reservations, photocopies, and scanning.

Assist with program logistics.

Serve as office receptionist in the absence of Program Assistant.

Assist Extension staff in additional short term projects and assignments as requested.

Assist with customer requests for soil and well water testing.

Typical Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

High School diploma or GED

Excellent organizational skills, high level of maturity, strong degree of self-direction and motivation are required.  Must be cordial with clientele and able to work cooperatively and efficiently with other members of the UW-Extension staff.  Knowledgeable and compliant with the operations and regulations of the UW- Madison Division of Extension.

Computer applications require proficiency in the entire Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Access, Word, Outlook, etc.).

Basic knowledge of office equipment (copiers, printers, computers, etc.), proficiency in the use of standard office software programs. Ability to use digital camera/software, video camera/software, folding machine, postage meter machine, laminators, projectors, laptops, telephone, and fax machine.

Proficiency in grammar, spelling, vocabulary, sentence structure and telephone etiquette.  Ability to read and interpret documents.
