content creator to help us make our show. You’ll be responsible for writing and editing a variety of videos. These can range from episodes with our hosts to video essays and beyond. You should be an expert in blending factual information to create a compelling narrative. You’re also able to make an expertly paced video for YouTube.

  • You are creative and detail-oriented
  • You have a strong portfolio that represents your video editing and script-writing work
  • You’re a natural storyteller. Someone who can create an engaging video out of anything
  • You’re able to translate complex facts while making a fun and engaging story
  • You are receptive to feedback and communicate clearly
  • You have excellent time-managing skills and the ability to prioritize effectively
  • You’re passionate about survival, digital storytelling and YouTube

QUALIFICATIONS YOU BRING

  • Experience writing and editing for digital media
  • Excellent command of the English language, with an ability to write in an engaging, clear, and grammatically correct manner
  • Creative thinking and the ability to translate abstract theories and concepts into a compelling story
  • Strong research skills and a passion for digging deep into survival stories
  • Expert knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
  • Ability to find footage from a variety of sources
  • You know what makes a great YouTube video
  • Ability to efficiently work remotely without direct supervision
  • Ability to communicate effectively and timely, working as part of a team

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create multiple videos a month. This includes researching, writing and editing
  • Work closely with the showrunner on refining scripts and videos, going through multiple notes and revisions
  • Consistently implement showrunner feedback, making each video better than the last
  • Adhere to deadlines and stay on top of projects
  • Create engaging videos that resonate with our audience
