Electrify Video Partners is a dynamic new digital media company that invests in and scales creators with an established YouTube presence. Our mission is to turn creators into global media businesses by building teams, scaling the production and distribution of their content and introducing new revenue streams across platforms. We acquire between 50% and 100% of creator businesses with an established YouTube presence. We have raised multiple funding rounds and have significant existing revenue streams.

Fireship is the biggest software engineering channel on YouTube, providing high-intensity code tutorials as well as regular news videos covering the topics every programmer should know.

We are looking for a creative and experienced Scriptwriter/Researcher to support our remote digital video team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for writing engaging, informative, and accurate scripts for programming-related videos.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of coding and the culture surrounding it. They will work together with the team to identify trends, topics, and news within the programming world and turn them into cohesive narratives, while ensuring that the videos are informative, entertaining, and visually appealing.

Tasks

• Transform complex technical information into engaging and accessible content for a diverse audience.
• Write, revise, and edit scripts for videos with a focus on accuracy and engaging storytelling in collaboration with the team.
• Ensure that scripts align with the visual direction of the videos and meet the overall content goals.
• Dive deep into research and source materials to fill in gaps and enhance storytelling.
• Identify industry trends, news, and topics to suggest relevant potential video content.
• Collaborate closely with the team to ensure accuracy and clarity in narratives.
• Deliver scripts in a format that can be easily read as a voice over.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of programming and storytelling, with a deep understanding of both disciplines.
• Proven experience in writing compelling narratives for YouTube videos or similar visual media formats.
• A portfolio showcasing writing ability, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex ideas in a clear and engaging way
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas in a clear and concise manner
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality content that meets the standards of the YouTube channel
• Passionate about programming in general.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with creative teams, responding to feedback in a timely fashion
