Description
Are you passionate about bringing people together and building strategic programs that connect, inspire, and engage our selling partners? We are seeking a high-judgment, strategic-thinking, detail-oriented, and creative senior manager to lead and manage a strategic events team, responsible for the overall program strategy, planning, and execution of high-impact seller events. The primarily responsibility of this role is to evolve this programs into an industry leading attendee experience, building a community of selling partners while driving increased engagement between larger and more established Amazon Selling Partners (SPs) at the CXO level, and with Amazon.

You will work directly with selling partners as well as external vendors, internal teams, and senior leadership to align on strategy and approach, develop content, create new measurement strategies, and own goals related to the effectiveness of the program.

The ideal candidate has proven experience in building and growing a team responsible for strategic programs within a large corporate event or conference. You are an exceptionally organized and detail-oriented manager with a track record of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, managing through ambiguity, identifying risk, and issue resolution. To be successful in this role, candidates need to be creative, an effective leader and communicator who can influence stakeholders across multiple levels and disciplines. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are calm under pressure, and driven to deliver exceptional event experiences. You work backwards from the needs of our selling partners (our customers).

Key job responsibilities

  • Develop a program strategy to engage CXO level third-party Selling Partners in a long-term program where they feel valued and rewarded.
  • Foster a collaborative community of third-party Selling Partners of similar size and scale to drive mutually beneficial discussion and innovation.
  • Define a target audience play and acquisition strategy to ensure maximum value for all participants.
  • Agenda topic and structure development, plus in-person experience design of a top-tier experience.
  • Support content development, speaker training and rehearsals, in collaboration with the production lead.
  • On-site program lead, supported by internal and external event management and production resources.
  • Manage people, hire and develop a team of motivated Program Managers at all seniority levels – from inexperienced to Principal Program Managers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of team management experience
  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Direct management experience leading remote teams distributed across multiple time zones, with strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex programs with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, and successfully resolving issues.
  • An effective multi-tasker who navigates a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with grace and efficiency.
  • A curious self-starter with a proven track record of diving into unknown territory, learning new concepts, and pushing your comfort zone.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with an innate attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
  • Ability to lead and influence across all levels and disciplines without direct authority.
  • Excellent at creating and maintaining working relationships across all levels and disciplines, receptive to feedback and input from others, and quick to apply changes.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and programs to execute high quality deliverables.
  • Experience working with executive leadership teams.
  • Experience in a B2B, high-tech company events team.
