Job Description
The Regional Sales Manager -Encoder Products will provide sales support in the Western US Territory, providing support of Renishaw’s optical, magnetic and laser encoder product lines with new and existing OEM’s. The ideal candidate should have a functional knowledge of electronic principles with experience of encoders, motion control and metrology a plus.
This role will report to the Encoder Business Manager. Training will be provided to support duties and responsibilities outlined below. Excellent opportunity for future advancement within the encoder division.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Establishing and maintaining direct relationships with customers via regular contact with engineering, purchasing and executive managers (when appropriate).
  • Regularly visiting key customers to support all sales and support functions.
  • Responding to RFQ’s with technical application discussions (if necessary) and providing appropriate sales quotations, enlisting Renishaw Applications Engineering in discussions as needed.
  • Delivering detailed product presentations and demonstrations.
  • Providing detailed monthly sales reports to the Encoder Business Manager.
  • Participating in domestic trade shows throughout the US.
  • Recording relevant customer activities using Renishaw’s internal Customer Relationship Management software and sales opportunity databases.
  • Traveling to Renishaw facilities (domestic and international) for appropriate training and sales meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned or requested.
Qualifications
Education and Experience: Minimum
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated mechanical, electrical and motion systems experience.
  • This position may require the use of, and access to, ITAR controlled data. The applicant must demonstrate eligibility to use and access such ITAR controlled data. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure compliance with U.S. export control laws.
Education and Experience: Preferred
Considerable mechanical, electrical and motion systems engineering experience.
  • Understanding of linear and rotary motion systems, servo feedback loops and robotics.
  • Previous internship with a company designing, manufacturing or involved with the installation, setup or selling of motion control systems, encoder systems or motion control controllers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experienced technical sales management.
  • Demonstrated successful OEM account management.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to interact with internal and external audiences, including customers, in all functions, including but not limited to technical, purchasing and management roles.
  • Manual dexterity with the physical ability to install products in a normal production environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as CRM, TEAMs.

\nCompensation Range (Annual)
  • up to $150,000 (depending on level and location)

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, as well as geographic location, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
