Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, with a focus on delivering exceptional client service and managing a team of bookkeepers and staff accountants. This role is critical in ensuring our clients receive the highest quality financial services, including timely financial reports, bookkeeping, compliance, and payroll support.

We are looking for a teammate that will add to Paprika’s culture of endless curiosity while practicing relentless resourcefulness. You’ll be joining a team of hard workers that are eager to roll up their sleeves and get to work in supporting one another to provide services that go above and beyond our clients’ expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with multiple clients.
  • Sustain a proactive and versatile communication style to ensure a high-level of client satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial reports, bookkeeping/accounting, compliance, and payroll services.
  • Provide expert advice and support to clients on financial matters.

Team Leadership:

  • Manage and oversee a small but mighty team of remote bookkeepers and staff accountants.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and implement development plans to enhance team skills and performance.

Financial Reporting & Compliance:

  • Oversee the full cycle preparation and review of financial statements and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.

Bookkeeping & Payroll Support:

  • Oversee daily bookkeeping team to ensure accuracy and completeness of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and categorization of transactions.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure timely and accurate payment of employees.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA license preferred but not required.
  • 4+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on client management.
  • Proven experience managing teams of bookkeepers and staff accountants.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Expert in QuickBooks Online and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
