The Manager, Data Science will lead a team of data scientists creating statistical data analysis and advanced analytics solutions using AI and ML to improve the overall experience for our customers. He/she will operate as a thought leader and visionary, with the ability to guide data science modeling and influence across analytical functions. This position will develop predictive and prescriptive algorithms and models focusing on a wide range of cross-functional business initiatives across our interconnected online and in-store experiences. The candidate in the role will also engage with our business partners to identify data-driven opportunities and map business problems to data science solutions, execute on our data science strategy, and guide and inspire the teams in data science best practices, and spearhead evangelizing the scientific use of data throughout the business.

  • Design and develop predictive/analytical algorithms and statistical data modeling tools to derive insights for complex business operations and processes.
  • Be a subject matter expert in supervised and unsupervised ML algorithms, and other applied AI techniques to derive meaningful and actionable insights from big data.
  • Establish scalable, efficient processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, and model implementation. Ensure successful delivery of the data science initiatives.
  • Execute on the data science roadmap to manage scalable and efficient processes for large scale data analyses, model development, and model implementation
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business stakeholders on problem identification and definition and present findings to leaders in easily understood ways.
  • Define best practices and articulate a clear vision on Data Science-ML Ops practices, and strongly partner closely with Technology teams for efficient model deployment, update, and maintenance.
  • Mentor and develop the technical and business skills of Data Scientists

Skills:

  • Hands-on Capabilities to develop and deploy AI/ML algorithms such as supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learnings methodologies.
  • Ability to work with AI/ML modeling and deployment technologies within the cloud environment (GCP preferred).
  • Experience using cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) in data science solutions.
  • 10+ years of experience in one or multiple of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, choice modeling, time series analysis, statistical signal processing, or natural language processing

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Typically reports to Senior Manager of Data Science or Director of Analytics and Data Science.

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

5+ years of hands-on experience in one or multiple of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, choice modeling, time series analysis, statistical signal processing, or natural language processing.

Minimum Leadership Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in leading teams to deliver data science and machine learning solutions for cross-functional business teams.
