s with the graphics, logistics and overseas departments, manages quotes and sale prices ensuring stakeholder satisfaction, and builds into the ERP system for production. The PM evaluates project performance, files and closures the project after completion.

The goal of the PM is to make sure all jobs are handled from beginning-to-end (BTE). Open line of communication between the PM and CS Rep is a must.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Attend the morning call/meeting with the entire company to discuss open jobs.
  • Once the quote request email is launched by the CS Rep, the PM should jump off that email chain and give further instructions to the China team on how to quote the job i.e., quantities quoted, provide existing similar item so the China team knows to manufacture item with same partners as the referenced item, etc.
  • Send the next day’s “quotes due” report to the China team, so they know which jobs they need to send quotes back to the USA PMs the next morning.
  • Printout the “quotes due” report that China sends back to USA PMs for the day. Review it and make sure all quotes requested were received.
  • Go through emails and printout quotes in the morning. Place the quotes in the job bags.
  • Make sure quotes received are all accurate. Review them against the artwork and make sure they match up exactly as per the specifications listed on the art file.
  • If any errors or quotes are not clear, due to time difference, there is still time to call China PM via WeChat and discuss any issues with the quotes submitted.
  • Convert RMB to USD on the quotes when required. Add any additional costs i.e., pouch, sensor and labor costs to the quote to have total costs to review during the quoting meeting to set sell prices.
  • After quotes have been reviewed and sell prices have been set, make PD copies of the job bag so they are filed in the PD department (this is where all partner quotes are filed for each job – no costs are ever sent back to CS).
  • Once PD copies are made, file them in the PD department filing cabinets. Return the original job bag to the CS Rep with just the sell prices and the job cover sheet, etc.
  • Work closely with the purchasing department as there are sometimes questions regarding costs from China vs. costs that are in the ERP System.
  • Stay on top of Pre-Production Samples, amount, lead time so the database (Catalog) can be updated accordingly.
  • When customers are ready to place orders on the quoted items, Build in Mas in the ERP system (Sage). Sales puts a job bag into PD to “Build in Mas”.
  • For “All” CSP jobs Build in Mas: A hand-off meeting must happen before the build in mas to review the approved artwork to make sure the uploads to China are 100% accurate.
