As a Remote Google Cloud Platform Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and deploying Google Cloud Platform applications using a variety of cloud services, with a focus on Cloud Data Fusion and Cloud Composer. You will also play a key role in implementing monitoring and alerting capabilities to ensure the reliability and performance of our cloud infrastructure. Additionally, you will stay updated on new versions of Google Cloud Platform services and lead the design and implementation of upgrades to the latest versions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy Google Cloud Platform applications using cloud services such as Cloud Data Fusion and Cloud Composer.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable and reliable cloud solutions.
  • Develop automation scripts and templates to streamline deployment processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively detect and respond to issues within the cloud environment.
  • Conduct performance testing and optimization to ensure the scalability and reliability of Google Cloud Platform applications.
  • Stay updated on new versions of Google Cloud Platform services and evaluate their impact on existing infrastructure and applications.
  • Lead the design and implementation of upgrades to the latest versions of Google Cloud Platform services, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders on best practices for Google Cloud Platform application development and deployment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in cloud engineering, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Proficient in designing, building, and deploying Google Cloud Platform applications using services such as Cloud Data Fusion and Cloud Composer.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native concepts and best practices, including containerization and orchestration.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Stackdriver or Prometheus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Google Cloud Platform certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer) are a plus.
