Job Duties
The BWC Manager (PPM IV) will be responsible for serving as the lead for the Body Worn Camera and In-Car Video Program. Responsibilities and functions of this position include but are not limited to the following duties:
- Oversee the training, distribution, and physical management of the body-worn camera (BWC) and in-car video (ICV) cameras and accessories.
- Develop departmental training for deputies and sergeants and serve as training instructor/facilitator for BWC program.
- Establish records, reports, and other documentation related to assigned functions.
- Ensure operation of BWC and ICV is meeting all relevant state, federal, and local laws and requirements.
- Responsible for policy and procedure review and evaluation and assist in the development, implementation, and updating of policies and procedures.
- Manage and maintain retention and auditing responsibilities of BWC and ICV footage and files.
- Lead liaison with body-worn camera vendor and other collaborative partners concerning issues and upgrades to the BWC equipment.
- Provide direction to other project members.
- Prepare reports and give presentations to KCSO executive team, King County leadership, and contract city officials related to the operation of program.
- Effectively establish and maintain positive relations with internal and external customers, including KCSO divisions, command staff, County employees, elected officials, and the public.
- Provide on-call support and on-site visits as required.
- As with any new program, identify and oversee needs that develop related to BWC program.
Experience, Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills
To be considered for this position, applicants must have five (5) years of progressive project or program management experience OR a combination of education and experience that clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position may be considered.
The most competitive candidates will have one or more of the following:
- Experience working with law enforcement or a public safety agency.
- Experience working in government organizations.
- Experience implementing and managing projects and/or programs.
- Experience using Axon products, Evidence.com software, or similar products and software.
Specific requirements include the following skills and abilities:
- Ability to successfully manage projects using current project management principles, methodologies and processes.
- Demonstrated success in organizing, planning and executing multiple large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated professional level of oral and written communication; skills in communicating diplomatically.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize various computer hardware and software applications, such as Microsoft Office suite products, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Skill in collaborating with program partners, managing work and holding partners accountable for work product.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with law enforcement personnel at all levels, peers, managers, other agencies, and external vendors.
- Skill in planning and prioritizing work to meet organizational needs.
- Ability to think strategically and align program with the organizations vision and goals.
- Ability to work with sensitive law enforcement documents that may contain highly confidential or offensive material.

WORK SCHEDULE
This position is FLSA Exempt and not eligible for overtime. The typical work week for this position is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Additional hours may be necessary to respond to workload needs.
WORK LOCATION
This position will be based in SeaTac and the general King County region.
