Overview

We are a small, but growing, 3 person team that will continue to grow as the business grows. We have found a system that we think works and are looking to integrate other established Independent Freight Dispatchers.

We know being an Independent Dispatcher is nonstop. We’ll help you stabilize your hours so you’re only working normal business hours and can spend time with your family like you should be and bring in a consistent pay check.

We will maintain the same fees you currently charge your carriers so that they get the same experience as before. You’ll get your own company email so you can have that professional appearance. We’ll also set you up with our spreadsheets that we use to maintain and track our loads and carriers.

We will also offer generous referral bonuses for any new carriers you bring on whether you end up servicing them or not.

About the role

This position and the entire company are remote, meaning you will work from home (or wherever you do currently). We will require that you have an office set up that is sufficient for speedy web-based work. Meaning, a desk and chair, a fast computer with fast internet, at least 1 external monitor. As long as you are set up to work from home you get to enjoy that added flexibility of not having to go into an office and being able to spend more time with your family.

 

Compensation:

We are expecting to pay this person weekly. The amount will be based on what you are currently bringing in and what we feel makes sense for both parties. It will depend at least partially on your current carrier list, the fees your charge, and other metrics. You will generally work between 40 and 45 hours a week, depending on business needs. This role will function as an independent contractor, which just means we will not take taxes out of your pay and we do not offer any benefits at the moment. We will pay weekly on Mondays and you will be paid for holidays that you have off.

We work on a typical business day, from 8am to 5pm EST (7am to 4pm if CT). We are a service business so our clients dictate our hours, morning are the busiest. Be available, be concise and you will succeed.

Again, for tax purposes this person will be treated as an independent contractor. We will not deduct taxes from your pay and there will be no benefits (401k, insurance, etc) for this position. Expected to change soon as our team grows.

 

Responsibilities:

o Search for and secure transportation work for the truck drivers that make up our roster, this will include constant emailing, calling, and maybe texting freight brokers to find work that matches our drivers’ needs

o Communicating pick up and drop off details to our truck drivers

o Organizing files and keeping records of the loads your drivers are doing

o Monitoring and updating shipment status, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information for both our truckers and 3rd parties

o Handling incoming calls and inquiries related to transportation and logistics

o Log into, post, interact, and maintain social media accounts during business hours only

o Perform data entry tasks to input and update shipment details in Google Sheets/ Google Drive

 

Requirements:

o Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

o Confidence and willingness to do multiple phone calls and email communications each day where you will have to do light negotiating

o Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

o Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

o Proficient in data entry and comfortable working with Google Suite

o Has their own reliable computer, phone, and internet connection

o At least 18 years old

o Has at least a high school diploma

o Previous experience in or knowledge of the transportation industry or freight dispatching is required

o Ability to quickly calculate basic math (calculating rate per mile when given both the rate and miles)

o Please be ready and willing to provide references if you are selected
