As a member of the IT Operations team, we are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Microsoft 365 Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Microsoft 365 solutions to optimize productivity, security, and efficiency across our organization. You will work closely with other IT professionals and business stakeholders to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions.
Essential Functions Include:
1. Excellent verbal, written, and documentation skills
2. Research, evaluate, and recommend technical solutions to address business challenges, then follow through to design, engineer, and deploy to production, including detailed documentation
3. Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Azure Active Directory, Compliance Center, and Power Platform
4. Implement security best practices, configure access controls, and manage user accounts and permissions
5. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis
6. Automate routine tasks using PowerShell and scripting languages
7. Migrate on-premises data and applications to Microsoft 365
8. Stay up-to-date on the latest Microsoft 365 features and updates
9. Provide technical support to users and answer their questions
10. Document processes and procedures
11. Participate in IT projects and initiatives
12. Follow company policies and procedures
13. Serve as subject matter expert and internal consultant to other technical staff and groups
14. Be the top-level responsible party for escalated support, working directly with external vendors and consultants to resolve issues and produce root cause analysis reports
15. The normal workday will be a 35 hours work week, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. In addition, the nature of this role routinely involves working outside of normal business hours (evening, night or weekend)
16. Ability to work under minimal on-site supervision and maintain flexibility to travel to any of the Firm’s offices with little notice to address emergencies or tech refreshes
17. Experience with additional SAAS products and services within the legal industry is a huge plus
18. Any additional responsibilities as required by management
Qualifications and Prior Experience:
1. 3+ years of experience as a Microsoft 365 Engineer or similar role
2. Proven experience with all core Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Teams, Azure Active Directory)
3. Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) concepts
4. Experience with PowerShell scripting
5. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7. Detail-oriented and proactive approach
8. Willingness to learn and stay up-to-date with the latest technologies
9. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical knowledge. Appropriate certifications are preferred.
10. Thorough command of the industry language and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of technical and non-technical users
11. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, use initiative and judgment to accomplish results, participate as a team leader or member of a team, work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate, timely and professional manner
12. Self-Driven to find innovative ways to use our existing resources to solve problems, drive efficiency and/or improve quality
13. Knowledge of Cloud backup methodologies
14. Ability to lift 25LB above your waist
Preferred Skills:
1. Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
2. Experience with Azure Active Directory Premium features
3. Experience with Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
4. Experience with Intune and mobile device management (MDM)
5. Experience with Azure and cloud-based technologies
6. Develop automated scripts for the build/deployment of security hardened platform and infrastructure services to different environments (e.g. Production, Integration Test, Dev/Test etc.). Where possible, scripts should support both on-premise and cloud deployments
7. Assist the Information Security team with vulnerability remediation, system hardening, documentation and completing audits
