This is a full-time on-site role for a Surgical Technician at Dutchess Ambulatory Surgical Center located in Poughkeepsie, NY. The Surgical Technician will be responsible for setting up surgical equipment, monitoring patients, and assisting surgeons and nurses with medical procedures. The Surgical Technician will maintain a sterile field, ensure adequate supplies, and operate equipment used in surgical procedures. In addition to technical support, the Surgical Technician will comfort patients, provide emotional support, and assist in transfer patients to and from surgical tables.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician program
- Current certification as a Surgical Technician
- Excellent knowledge of operating room procedures and surgical instruments
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environment
- Detailed-oriented and a strong focus on quality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to remain composed and calm in stressful situations
