However, there are plans to broaden its scope to include more Shift4 Payment Products in the near future. As a Technical Consultant I (TC1) you’ll have the opportunity to learn and understand the various point-of-sale solutions that are offered by Shift4 in the Sports & Entertainment ecosphere.  Learning these platforms will give you the ability to configure and test various scenarios in production and test environments to ensure the best possible experience for our clients.

  • As a TC1 you’ll also have the opportunity to learn about and understand the different hardware and infrastructure devices needed to support the software platforms.  You’ll be working hands-on with the hardware each day to test various configuration scenarios and to test the software platforms.
  • The TC1 position will also work with internal groups and individuals to test pre-sales configurations, proof-of-concept configurations, and to test alongside Quality Assurance for new software releases, updates, and configuration changes needed to support the entire Shift4 ecosystem of products.
  • As a TC1 on the Validations Team, you’ll work with senior team members to learn how to formulate and create testing plans that suit the specific needs of a client.  Once created, you’ll carry out these testing plans on your own or with other team members and provide reliable data and documentation to allow internal teams and clients to make decisions surrounding the Shift4 products.
  • You’ll also have the opportunity to learn and test on the various third-party integrations that make the Shift4 family of products such an amazing ecosystem that can fully support a client end-to-end in their business operations.

Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate for Technical Consultant I will have at least 2 years of experience in the point-of-sale industry in a position of support, implementation, or operations.  Experience in the Sports & Entertainment vertical is a plus, but not required.
  • There are no required professional licenses or certifications required for this position.
  • Knowledge of the point-of-sale industry is a must and should be within the last 5 years.  Basic understanding of point-of-sale hardware is also required.
  • The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of JIRA, Slack, MS Office, Google Office Suite and a general knowledge of Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS operating systems.
