& USA. Our services include website builds, digital ad campaigns, graphic design, copy writing, social media, SEO and more. We have an excellent record of customer satisfaction and company growth, and we are looking for an experienced and passionate Technical Production Manager to join the team.

Reporting to the Director of Production, you will be responsible for leading the more technical areas of our production team: Websites, Hosting, Domains/DNS, PPC and email hosting. Across these disciplines we already have a strong team of ~25 professionals delivering in their area of expertise. The key focus of this role is to manage, develop and coordinate that team to maintain a high level of efficiency & quality, while equipping them to support our growing company.

This role involves:

  • Lead Responsibility for our agency’s Website program, which includes maintaining ~1000 WordPress sites, with more being built and launched every day!
  • Managing a high-performing production team of WordPress specialists and technical ops specialists (including people specializing in content publishing, domain/DNS management, email hosting, WP Admin & Security, Web Development and Server Admin).
  • Identifying and project-managing “quality sweeps” (these are opportunities to fix a problem or upgrade a solution across our whole client base – from identifying the issue, defining the process, to coordinating the team to complete the work).
  • Representing our company in dealing with key technical vendors. This may include regular meetings, championing team issues to a vendor for support, or identifying new partners as our business needs evolve.
  • Handling functionality research questions from our clients (via account managers) or prospects (via sales team), to assess & plan our ability to fulfill them.
  • Representing the production department in our internal software development roadmap. Working with our internal IT/software team to ensure applications help user efficiency and bugs/improvements are reported.
  • Leveraging the advantages of a global team allows us to exceed customer expectations. Our team is located across various time zones around the world. Answering questions or having scheduled meetings in the evening will be necessary.

To excel in this role, you should:

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in managing production/fulfillment teams, preferably within a digital media or agency organization.
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in digital marketing involving at least a few disciplines such as website development, PPC campaign management, SEO, digital product management, or project management.
  • Have team management experience – a track record of success in a management role, managing recruitment & HR matters and aligning a department to company KPIs. Managing people, including people more technically advanced than you are, to help them define effective processes and solutions in their work.
  • Be a strong problem solver – ability to provide guidance to members of your team, even when they are the subject matter experts and you’re still learning. You feel comfortable asking questions to gather information and make informed decisions.
  • Have direct experience and knowledge in most of these areas (yes, you’ll need to get your hands dirty some days!):

– Maintaining large numbers of WordPress sites

– Web Server and hosting administration

– Domain registration and DNS/nameserver arrangements

– Email hosting configuration/migration (ideally Google Workspace)

– Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager

– Google, Facebook &/or LinkedIN Ad Campaigns

– Database querying (using SQL or MS Access) to extract insights or customer information

  • A production/fulfillment mindset – a bias toward designing and implementing processes and structure to ensure high quality and efficient delivery of digital marketing services. You would have experience defining processes withing an organization to facilitate fulfillment, improve efficiency and/or quality improvement.
